My 1st Article for Thrillist — Ramen Royalty
Quick question: How many national food and culture sites cover Phoenix in depth? Answer: none … except Thrillist, the lifestyle site founded in 2004 by Ben Lerer and Adam Rich.
So when Thrillist contacted me to see if I’d be interested in writing for them, I said yes, I’d love to write about the food scene in Phoenix. And THANK YOU, Thrillist, for believing in Phoenix enough to include it as one of your featured cities.
The first story that popped into my head was Joshua Hebert’s road from fine dining chef of Posh Improvisational Cuisine to Ramen King. And because he is busy preparing to open a dedicated ramen shop, I thought it would be the perfect time to take a look at his journey.
David Chang is wrong. Ramen is not dead. You can’t kill delicious.
