Ever wonder how much lettuce to buy to make a salad?

Count on 1 cup of washed and dried lettuce for each person for a small side salad, and 2 to 3 cups for an entree salad.

This is a good measure if you are adding just a few other ingredients, like sliced onions, cucumbers and tomatoes.

If you add lots of other ingredients for an entree salad, then cut the lettuce portions down by half.

A large head of romaine will yield about 6 cups of cleaned, trimmed lettuce.
