Attention parents: do you have a child between the ages of 8 and 12?
You’ll be interested in this Healthy Lunchtime Challenge recipe contest, because one lucky child (accompanied by a parent) from every state will win a trip to Washington DC to attend a kids “State Dinner.” But time is running out, so you must act quickly.
First Lady Michelle Obama and Epicurious.com are searching for original, healthy, tasty, and affordable lunch recipes. All you have to do is work together with your child to develop a recipe and submit it before the deadline on Sunday, June 17 (contest ends at 11:59 p.m. EST)
One child winner from each of the 50 states and their parent will be flown to DC, put up at a hotel, and attend a Kids Dinner at the White House with Mrs. Obama and Epicurious Editor-in-Chief, Tanya Steel.
From the Challenge:
“Each of the food groups should be represented in your recipe: fruit, vegetables, whole grains, protein, and dairy. You can either combine them into one recipe, or include some of them in the recipe and suggest others as accompaniments to form an entire lunch meal. Your recipe should also be original, affordable, and delicious!”
